  • Ling 190, Rutgers University: Linguistic Perspectives on Language. Instructor. Topic: Invented Languages. Online, asynchronous course where students explore motivations for inventing new languages, characterize the types of invented languages, and contrast these languages with natural human languages, all while developing skills in using the fundamental tools of modern linguistic theory. Languages investigated in detail: Klingon, Esperanto, Lojban, Valyrian, Elvish, and philosophical languages. No prerequisites.
